The Tourism Pilot in MedLab is hosted by ANETEL, the District Development Agency of Larnaca, Cyprus, and draws on ANETEL’s extensive experience in local territorial animation in the context of EU cooperation projects as well as the Larnaca District’s natural vocation for sustainable tourism.

The approach followed articulates three different levels of Living Lab co-design interactions. The first one is the baseline level is a Web 2.0 social network. The second one is specific pilot actions that use ICT to define new tourism services which includes more actions like: a CRM-based web, an SMS, a tourism service concept “Angels for Travellers” , specific group spaces in ForumLarnaca open to the co-design of new tourism services together with tourists themselves. The third is a long-term scenario exercise that works on sustainable futures together with future internet developments (wireless access, un-regulated frequencies, regulations on tourism activities, etc.).
